Live from the Temple – 5 Religious Organizations Unite to Hold Memorial Ceremony for the 'Royal Mother of the Land'

This marks a deeply sorrowful moment for Thai people of all backgrounds since the Royal Palace announced the passing of Queen Sirikit, the Royal Mother, on Friday, October 24, 2025. To pay tribute to her immeasurable grace, the government's Ministry of Culture and Department of Religious Affairs will collaborate with five religious organizations to conduct ceremonial rituals commemorating her 100-day memorial with full royal honors. The 100-day memorial, or 'Satamawat', is considered a profoundly significant period in traditional customs, symbolically guiding her royal spirit to heavenly realms as a tribute to the 'Mother and Teacher of the Land' who has always nurtured and supported all religions in Thailand. The Department of Religious Affairs has coordinated memorial ceremonies with representatives from Buddhist, Islamic, Christian, Hindu, and Sikh organizations, each conducting rituals at their respective sacred sites.
