Police Catch Cable Theft Gang Using Loud Firecrackers to Trick Security Guards

Police tracked down a cable theft gang causing widespread disruption, using firecrackers to create gunshot-like sounds to deceive security guards. At 8:30 PM on February 19, 2024, at Pak Klong Rangsit Police Station in Pathum Thani, police officers arrested Treewit, 24, from Bangkok, and Kritsaphast, 31, from Pathum Thani. They seized over 50 meters of stripped communication cables, tools, and a motorcycle. Treewit confessed to being part of the gang, claiming he was not the main cable cutter. The suspects have prior records of drug offenses and theft. Police are still searching for another gang member, and the cable thefts have caused significant disruption to local residents.
