Pickup Truck Rear-Ends Motorcycle, 13-Month-Old Infant Dies, 3 Others Injured
The accident occurred at 9:30 PM on February 16th in Samut Songkhram province. Police Lieutenant Phaiwat Sreepha investigated the incident near a prominent educational center on Ekachai Road. A red Honda PCX motorcycle was severely damaged, with the tragic scene revealing 13-month-old Theerapat, wearing only a diaper, lying motionless on the road. Doctors confirmed the child's death, causing profound sorrow. Three other individuals were injured: Thanyanan (44 years old), Wimonrat (11 years old), and Nattapong (5 years old), who were immediately rushed to Buddhachinaraj Hospital. A bronze Toyota Revo pickup truck, driven by Somrak (52 years old), was found with significant front-end damage. Initial investigation from nearby CCTV footage showed the motorcycle normally driving in the right lane before being violently rear-ended. The driver, Thanyanan, was returning from buying charcoal and preparing to turn right when the collision occurred. Police will conduct a detailed investigation to pursue legal action.
