Fern Unconcerned About Legal Complaint, Insists on Election Vote Recount
Fern, representing a group of citizens demanding a new vote count for the Chonburi Election District 1, held a press conference on February 12, 2024, at the Chonburi badminton stadium. After making merit and offering prayers for the Election Commission, she directly challenged the authorities' attempt to file legal complaints against citizens seeking transparency.
She questioned whether the authorities are intentionally trying to silence citizens and prevent them from examining the election process. Fern emphasized that the evidence they have includes official documents with signatures, and she challenged the authorities to check security camera footage to verify their claims.
Fern boldly stated that filing legal complaints will not silence her or her group. She raised concerns about the election ballot boxes' security, questioning why they were placed on an unsafe vehicle and why officials could not transport them properly. She also challenged the Election Commission to bring their evidence to court if they believe the citizens' claims are unfounded.
If the Election Commission refuses to recount the votes, Fern said she would ask fellow citizens how they want to proceed in protecting their rights.
