Pajero Hits Barrier and Plunges Down Slope, Driver Dies as Monks Pass By and Offer Blessings

At 9:00 AM on February 16, 2024, police at Na Yong station were notified of a fatal vehicle accident on the Trang-Phatthalung road during a downhill section. A black Mitsubishi Pajero with Phatthalung license plates had veered off the road, with the driver Wiphak (last name withheld), 59, found dead inside the vehicle. Two monks from Loei and Chiang Rai provinces were walking past the scene, and local people invited them to pray and offer merit for the deceased. Preliminary investigations suggest the driver was traveling from Phatthalung around 11:00 PM the previous night to visit relatives at a hospital in Trang. Police suspect the vehicle lost control on the curved, downhill section and hit the road barrier before falling approximately 3 meters to the roadside.
