Police Chief Orders Dismissal of Thung Lung Police Station Commander for Negligence in School Shooting Incident

On February 20, 2024, Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet signed an official order transferring the Thung Lung Police Station commander to the Regional Police Operation Center Region 9 due to suspected operational negligence. The incident involved an armed perpetrator who invaded Phatong Prathankhiriwat School in Hat Yai, taking teachers and students hostage, ultimately shooting and killing the school director.
