Regional Delicacy: Watermelon Rice Crackers from Phatthalung

The watermelon rice crackers from the agricultural housewives' group in Ban Nong Pring, Nathom Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phatthalung Province, represent an innovative fusion of Northern Thai culinary knowledge with Southern watermelon consumption culture. The group's signature product stands out for its unique flavor - fragrant, rich, and crispy, with a delightful aroma of fresh sugarcane and red watermelon color. After numerous trials and recipe adjustments, they created a distinctive product available in three flavors: cereal, sweet, and salty. The product is certified with a Halal mark, Community Product Standard (มผช.), 4-star OTOP rating, and FDA approval. It is sold in souvenir shops across Phatthalung and nearby provinces including Trang, Krabi, Phuket, Yala, and Pattani, with some customers visiting the production site directly.
