Unable to Stop! Oil Tanker Crashes into Gaur on Wang Nam Khiao Road, Animal Dies Instantly

On February 13, 2024, highway police in Wang Nam Khiao were alerted to an oil tanker collision with a gaur on Highway 304 between Kabinburi and Wang Nam Khiao. The incident occurred in a dark, unlit section of the park zone. A male gaur, approximately 15 years old and weighing around 1,000 kg, was killed instantly. The truck driver reported that dense fog and the gaur's sudden road crossing made it impossible to stop in time. The tanker, registered in Nonthaburi, suffered front-end damage, while the animal was found lying on its back with broken hind legs. Authorities warn drivers on Route 304 between 3:00-6:00 AM to drive slowly due to potential wildlife crossings.
