Punraweee Crushes Dutch Boxer to Win Gold in International Boxing Tournament

Punraweee Ruenros, a Thai national women's boxer, showcased an exceptional performance by consistently scoring points throughout the three rounds, defeating a boxer from the Netherlands. At the 'BOX-SAM International Tournament 2026' in Lanusier, Valencia, Spain, on the night of February 7th, Punraweee was the sole Thai boxer in the 57 kg women's category. A two-time SEA Games gold medalist and silver medalist at the 2025 World Boxing Championships, she faced Gabriela Vilhim from the Netherlands. The boxer from Nakhon Si Thammarat decisively won with a unanimous 5-0 score, claiming the gold medal. Mariano Gonzalez, the Cuban head coach of the Thai national team, expressed satisfaction with the team's performance of one gold and three bronze medals, praising the athletes' endurance and noting areas for improvement in boxing techniques and punch combinations. The coach also emphasized the urgent need to recruit new boxers, especially in the 55 kg and 70 kg weight categories.
