Rome Not Concerned, Continues Oversight Role Despite Thammanat Potentially Joining Opposition

On Feb 21, Rangsiman Rome, deputy leader of the People's Party (PPN), commented on reports that Maj. Thammanat Prompao's Kla Party might be pushed to the opposition. Rome stated that the opposition is not formed through deliberate alliances, and his party will continue its full role. He emphasized that they are not interested in who joins the opposition and will continue their oversight mission, particularly targeting what he calls 'gray capital' interests. Rome stressed that even if Thammanat becomes part of the opposition, they will continue to scrutinize him. He also noted that ministerial positions should go to capable individuals without corruption histories, expressing concern about those with 'gray' backgrounds gaining state power.
