Mother Seeks Help from Foundation After 16-Year-Old Son Beaten with Metal Pipe by Father, Left in ICU

A 16-year-old boy was brutally beaten by his father with a metal pipe after an argument about being late for prayer, resulting in critical injuries and hospitalization in the ICU at Narathiwat Rajanagarindra Hospital. The incident occurred when the boy was playing near a friend's house about 500 meters from his father's home. The father called him to come and pray, which escalated into a violent confrontation. The parents have been separated for over 12 years, with the boy living with his mother and relatives. When the family tried to file a police report, one officer shockingly stated that fathers have the right to punish their children, using aggressive and threatening language.
