Army Region 2 Reports Border Incident with Suspicious Laser Targeting and Gunfire
Army Region 2 reported a border situation in Si Sa Ket province's Kantharalak district. At 8:10 PM, a flare was detected at the Tho Mo Chat defense base, with suspected movement near their positions. At 9:00 PM, sounds of a 40mm grenade launcher were heard from an unknown location, with falling points observed in the eastern area of Phu Pla Lek base. Subsequently, a light resembling a search operation was detected, with a straight luminous line appearing similar to a laser targeting beam directed at Phu Pla Lek base. Thai forces fired warning shots, after which gunfire ceased. Commanders from both sides coordinated to resolve the issue, believing the incident was sudden and likely resulted from Cambodian military personnel's lack of discipline.
