Flossie, a tortoiseshell cat from the United Kingdom, has maintained her Guinness World Record for the 'oldest living cat' after celebrating her 30th birthday in late 2025, equivalent to around 130-140 human years. Born on December 29, 1995, Flossie was once a stray cat before being rescued by a hospital staff member. She has changed owners several times, with each family caring for her during different stages of her life. Currently living with her owner Vicki Green, Flossie shows remarkable health despite some age-related changes like partial hearing loss and diminished eyesight. Vicki describes her as friendly and playful, still behaving like a kitten. While experts aren't certain about the exact reasons for her longevity, they suggest her consistent lifestyle, balanced play, regular feeding, and adequate rest might contribute to her extraordinary lifespan. Interestingly, while Flossie holds the current record for the oldest living cat, she is not the oldest cat in recorded history. That record belongs to 'Creme Puff', a tabby mix from Austin, Texas, who lived an astounding 38 years and 3 days.
