Confession of 'Thiu': Straw Hat Thief Mimics Movie Disguise in Gold Shop Robbery

Police have arrested Chalo Kuikaew, 29, known as 'Thiu', for a gold shop robbery at Aurora Gold Shop in the Phra Khanong area. The suspect confessed to committing the robbery alone, using a motorcycle and disguising himself. After stealing 198 grams of gold and 170,000 baht in cash on January 30, he attempted to sell the gold to contacts in a neighboring country, planning to receive 200,000 baht in advance. Police tracked him down in Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province, and arrested him on February 19. The suspect claimed he committed the crime because he couldn't find work and was struggling financially after being released from prison in 1968.
