Meteorological Department Warns 18 Provinces of Thunderstorms
On February 16, 2024, the Meteorological Department forecast warns of thunderstorms in 18 provinces. The northern and northeastern regions will experience cool weather with morning fog. Eastern and central regions, including Bangkok, will see scattered thunderstorms due to a weakening high-pressure system and cool air mass.
The southern region will experience increased thunderstorms from easterly and southeast winds covering the Gulf of Thailand and southern provinces. Wave heights in the lower Gulf will range from 1-2 meters, with thunderstorm areas potentially seeing waves over 2 meters. Boat operators are advised to navigate with caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms.
Air pollution in the upper Thailand regions remains at moderate levels due to weak air circulation. Temperature ranges vary across different regions, with northern mountain areas experiencing particularly cold conditions.
