3.2 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Surat Thani with No Reported Damage
A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Ban Ta Khun district in southern Thailand, part of a cluster of nine tremors recorded from February 11-12, 2026. The Department of Mineral Resources' Earthquake Operations Centre reported that the quakes ranged between 1.9 and 3.2 in magnitude, with the strongest tremor occurring at 02:07 on February 12 at a depth of 2 kilometres. Authorities explained the tremors were caused by movement along the Khlong Marui fault zone, a left-lateral strike-slip fault running in a northeast-southwest direction. No damage has been reported, and officials will provide further updates if additional information becomes available.
