SME Development Bank Breaks Record with 79 Billion Baht in Funding

Pichet Mitrawong, Managing Director of the SME Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank), revealed the bank's exceptional performance in 2025, reaching a record high of 79,043 million baht in funding for small and medium enterprises. This marks the highest funding amount in the bank's 23-year history, with over 70% of loans not exceeding 15 million baht. The funding has generated approximately 362,010 million baht in economic circulation and helped maintain around 620,360 jobs. Despite the ongoing negative credit trends for SMEs in the financial system for 13 consecutive quarters, the bank's outstanding loan portfolio grew by 0.9% to 99,564 million baht. The bank also provided support through various measures like debt moratoriums and the 'You Fight, We Help' program, assisting approximately 32,900 SMEs. Additionally, the bank has effectively managed non-performing loans (NPLs), reducing them to a historic low of 7.9%, with post-restructuring NPLs at just 2.69%. The bank continues to develop SME potential through training, online platforms, and strategic support.
