Army Region 1 Explains Incident of 13 Cambodian Soldiers Armed and Causing Disturbance at Sa Kaeo Border

On February 12, 2024, Army Region 1 received a report from Eastern Force regarding Cambodian soldiers causing provocation at the border area of Ban Nong Chan in Sa Kaeo province. At around 10:30 AM, during a digging operation by Special Task Force 12 approximately 300 meters from a container, 13 Cambodian soldiers with weapons were observed monitoring the opposite side and engaging in conversation. The Eastern Force subsequently contacted Cambodia's Military Region 5 to control their personnel and prevent potentially escalating tensions. The current situation remains normal, with Eastern Force continuing to reinforce security in the controlled area.
