Department of Health Launches Pride Clinic Model in Khon Kaen

The Department of Health has opened a model Pride Clinic for health promotion at the 7th Regional Health Center in Khon Kaen, with plans to expand to two more provinces this year. On February 19, 2026, key health officials including Dr. Amporn Benjapolpitak, Director-General of the Department of Health, joined the 'Gland Opening Youth and Pride Clinic' event. The clinic aims to provide an equal, safe, and inclusive healthcare space that offers comprehensive care covering physical, mental, family, and social aspects, respecting human dignity and diversity. The initiative recognizes the growing global LGBTQ population and the need for specialized, understanding healthcare services. The clinic will provide services such as hormone consultation, HPV vaccination, sexual health counseling, STI consultation, mental health support, and cervical cancer screening. The Department of Health plans to expand this model to all 12 health regions, collaborating with various government and private sector partners. The Khon Kaen center will serve as a pilot clinic, with future plans to expand to 10 more centers nationwide, marking a significant step towards promoting health and well-being for the LGBTQ community and fostering equitable, sustainable social integration.
