Spiritual Realm #6 - Kru Ba Kham Saen of Wat Pa Don Mun: A Legendary Northern Thai Monk

On Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, a memorial was held for Kru Ba Kham Saen Kunalangkaro of Wat Pa Don Mun in San Kamphaeng, Chiang Mai - a legendary monk in the Lanna tradition. Born as Kham Saen Phen Than on April 30th, 1893, in San Khong Mai Village, he was ordained at 17 years old under the guidance of Phra Ajarn Pothi at Wat San Khong. He studied Buddhist scriptures and meditation with various renowned monks, including a memorable encounter with Kru Ba Sri Wichai during his imprisonment. Throughout his life, he practiced intensive meditation, traveled extensively through monasteries in Thailand and Myanmar, and became a respected spiritual leader in the northern Thai Buddhist community.
