Hong Kong Police Chief Thanks Thai Immigration for Capturing Major Criminals at Airport
On February 4th, 2024, Police Major General Cherngron Rimpadee, spokesperson for Thai Immigration, revealed that Zhou Yatming, Hong Kong Police Chief, visited Police General Kittirat Phanchet at the National Police Headquarters. The meeting was to officially thank Thai police for intercepting two major criminal cases at Suvarnabhumi Airport in June 2023: a brand-name goods theft worth over 10 million baht and a murder suspect fleeing from Hong Kong. During the meeting, the Hong Kong Police Chief presented a thank you certificate and commemorative gifts to 28 immigration officers involved in these arrests. Police General Kittirat confirmed Thailand's clear policy of not allowing the country to become a safe haven or escape route for transnational criminals, and committed to working closely with international police agencies to maintain public safety and global community confidence.
