Kamphaeng Phet MP Candidate from People's Party Hands Legal Team Case of False Vote-Buying Accusation
A People's Party MP candidate for Kamphaeng Phet has referred the false vote-buying accusation to their legal team, stating they personally requested the Election Commission investigate and found no truth to the claims. The incident began when Phai Lik, a Kla Dharma Party candidate, posted on Facebook alleging that the wife of a campaign driver was collecting names for urgent Election Commission review. On February 2, 2024, the Kamphaeng Phet Election Commission investigated the home of campaign workers for Parinyvat Thaveekitsiraphong. Chandana Sopha, 52, wife of campaign driver Dao Phankien, 48, denied the allegations and expressed concern about her safety after being forced to stop working due to the rumors. Election Commission officials offered direct contact and police protection if needed.
