Luang Por Sri Tho Silawanno was a revered Buddhist monk from Ban Pho Temple in Maha Sarakham Province. Born on July 16, 1913, he came from a farming family and was ordained as a monk in 1933. Throughout his religious career, he was known for his strict adherence to Buddhist principles, advanced Buddhist studies, and expertise in traditional mystical practices. He served as an abbot, senior monk, and district monk leader, establishing a renowned Buddhist education center at his temple. He was particularly respected for teaching the importance of following the five Buddhist precepts and maintaining close relationships with other notable monks in the region. Luang Por Sri Tho passed away peacefully on October 24, 1975, at the age of 63, after 43 years in monastic life. His most notable commemorative item was a limited edition oval-shaped medal created in 1974, with only 450 pieces made in various metals including copper and gold.
