DSI Concludes Iris Scan Digital Coin Case, Involving 1.2 Million People's Data Sent to NACC for Investigation

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has finalized the case file on the Worldcoin iris scan digital coin project, which involved data collection from 1.2 million Thai citizens. The investigation uncovered irregularities in project management and benefit distribution from foreign cryptocurrency tokens. The case involves a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE) and Singapore's Prime Opportunity Fund VCC, with connections to the Thailand International Digital Business & Finance Centre (TIDC). Investigators found multiple issues, including: unauthorized MOU signing, potential intellectual property disadvantages for the government, improper project development procedures, and an unusually rushed agreement process. The investigation has identified 6 government and political officials potentially involved in the irregularities.
