Chinese Tourist Assaulted and Robbed of 20,000 Baht in Pattaya Hotel
PATTAYA — On 17 February 2026, a Chinese tourist reported to police that he was assaulted and robbed of more than 20,000 baht by three transgender women at a Pattaya hotel early Monday. At 04:30, the Pattaya City Police Station radio center received a report of an attack at a hotel on Soi 4, Pattaya Second Road, in the Nong Prue subdistrict of Bang Lamung district, Chonburi. The victim, Mr. Jiang Zili, 27, told police through an interpreter that he had invited a transgender woman to his room, who later brought two friends. An argument broke out, and the trio allegedly damaged property, assaulted him, and stole 20,000 baht in cash before fleeing. A motorcycle taxi driver who witnessed the victim's panic helped him contact the police. Investigators are now reviewing hotel CCTV footage to identify the suspects and determine the sequence of events, with legal action pending.
