Bhumjaithai Party Denies Plans to Raise VAT to 10% in Next 2-3 Years, Focuses on Economic Recovery

Siripong Angkaskulkiat, Deputy Leader of Bhumjaithai Party, addressed speculation about increasing VAT to 10% following suggestions from the Senate Economic, Financial, and Fiscal Committee. He firmly denied these claims, stating that the government's primary goal is economic recovery, not generating additional revenue through tax increases. Siripong emphasized that in the short term of 2-3 years, there are no plans to raise VAT, and urged people to trust the government led by Anutin Charnvirakul and the economic team. He noted that while there have been discussions about building credit and exploring additional revenue collection, this is not a priority for the next 2-3 years.
