Unveiling a New Sacred Amulet - Luang Por Nueng's Commemorative Coin
Luang Por Nueng Kovito from Wat Chula Mani in Samut Songkhram Province was a famous Buddhist master over 20 years ago. He was a primary disciple of several notable religious teachers, learning various mystical arts from Luang Por Chaem, the abbot of Wat Chula Mani, and Luang PuJai of Wat Sadet, who was legendary for creating powerful amulets. He was revered by people in Samut Songkhram and nearby provinces for his spiritual strength and dedication to temple and community development. In 1933, he was granted a monastic rank and successfully renovated Wat Chula Mani, making it a prosperous temple with a remarkable three-level marble ubosot measuring 40 meters wide, 80 meters long, and 10 meters high. He passed away peacefully on November 27, 1987, at the age of 78. His first commemorative coin, created in 1964, features his seated image and has become highly sought after by amulet collectors.
