Massive Gathering for Golden Pillar Laying Ceremony at Famous Nakhon Pathom Temple
A grand ceremony was held at Intaram Temple in Hubrak, Nong Madeua Subdistrict, Nakhon Pathom Province on February 14, 2569 (2026), celebrating the Chinese New Year with a special golden pillar laying ritual. The event was presided over by Phra Thammawachirajettiyachan, advisor to the 14th Buddhist Region and acting abbot of Phra Pathom Chedi Temple, along with local officials and community leaders. The ceremony featured 19 monks performing blessing rituals, traditional dancers from Ratchaburi, and a spectacular release of thousands of balloons into the sky. A unique highlight was a bicycle-powered fundraising mechanism that moved donations to the temple's roof, creating excitement among attendees. Special guest Ms. Ai, a 55-year-old dancer, brought a banknote with the number sequence 1G8293574, hoping it would bring luck during the Chinese New Year. Retired police officer Preecha Timhom emphasized the spiritual significance of the event, noting the temple's importance in Buddhist religious practices. The temple also displayed the preserved body of the revered monk Luang Pho Sri Phrai Ket Kaew, who passed away over 20 years ago but remains remarkably intact, attracting devotees seeking blessings of protection and mercy.
