A 19-year-old driver died when his sedan struck a power pole while heading home to Kham Tha Lae in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Rescue Unit Huk 31 from Chakarat District responded at 9:47 a.m. on August 13, 2025, to reports of a car crash with a trapped occupant on Highway 226 in the Chakarat area. They found a white Mitsubishi Mirage, registration number Kh 8848, crushed against a concrete power pole. The driver, identified as Thanakrit, 19, was unconscious and trapped inside the destroyed vehicle. Medical personnel from Chakarat Hospital arrived at the scene and confirmed he had died. Police investigating the incident found no skid marks on the road and suspect the driver may have fallen asleep before the vehicle veered off the road and struck the pole, crushing it into scrap metal. Rescue workers used cutting equipment to extract Thanakrit's body from the wreckage.
