Governor Chaad Vows Zero Temple Kickbacks, Threatens Prosecution of Officials Demanding Percentages

Governor Kamronwit pledged zero tolerance for temple fund kickbacks and promised prosecution of any officials demanding percentages during a 4.8 million baht development grant ceremony at Wat Klaichum in Pathum Thani on May 24.

24 May Khaosod

At Wat Klaichum in Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province on May 24, 2025, Governor Pol. Lt. Col. Kamronwit Thupkrajai presided over a ceremony awarding 4.8 million baht in development funds to Wat Klaichum for constructing a multipurpose dome. The abbot, Phra Bhaditaka Chamreun Tikkhapanyo (Pul Kaew), received the check alongside provincial administration council members and officials.

The governor outlined his budget allocation policy, emphasizing equitable distribution across temples and the critical importance of council members engaging directly with constituents to identify community needs and present beneficial projects. He stressed that the provincial administration would provide full support without partisan division, prioritizing public welfare above all.

Governor Thupkrajai highlighted transparency in the 4.8 million baht subsidy, clarifying that the temple would manage all funds and hire contractors independently. The provincial administration would only conduct periodic inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and proper project completion. He firmly stated that no provincial officials would seek kickbacks or percentages under his administration, and warned of strict legal action against any officials attempting to do so.

Addressing future challenges, the governor noted that multipurpose domes often become repositories for private vehicles or commercial spaces after construction. He proposed raising the dome floor level by approximately half a foot to prevent unauthorized use. Council Member Pornprinya Srichun also raised concerns about deteriorating roofs and leaking structures at a local temple, which the governor acknowledged and promised to address through a provincial inspection team.

Viral Facebook sex livestream scandal spreads across Thai social mediaLegacy Thai cyber police are investigating Facebook sex livestreams showing uncensored sexual intercourse after the broadcasts circulated widely last night, May 23, prompting responses from users and public pages, including the Department of Disease Control (DDC). Several anonymous Facebook pages reportedly shared sexually explicit livestreams at around the same time, leading many users to click into the broadcasts out of curiosity. Screenshots showing the Ministry of Public Health’s DDC and popular pages viewing the livestreams also circulated. The DDC later clarified the situation on its page. Photo via Thairath “Hello, a follower sent us the link, so we checked it and found the content. We apologise. It has now been reported as spam.” The department also warned that unprotected sex carries serious health risks and directed users to information on preventing sexually transmitted diseases, free condoms, and HIV test kits. Today, May 24, the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) confirmed it had launched an investigation into the case. Police warned the public not to like or share the material, saying doing so could violate the Computer Crime Act. According to a CH3 report, the Facebook pages accused of sharing the explicit livestreams have already been removed, although discussion of the incident remains active online. Photo via Khaosod Deputy commissioner of the CCIB, Police Major General Chatphantakan Klaiklueng, said cyber police became aware of the clips last night after they detected the broadcasts. The Technology Crime Suppression Division has since been ordered to examine the source URLs and identify both the page owners and the individuals appearing in the clips. Siam News reported that police are currently gathering evidence. If the page owners or people appearing in the videos are confirmed to be Thai nationals or located in Thailand, they could face charges under the Computer Crime Act for importing obscene material into a computer system. Cyber police are also preparing to coordinate with Facebook Thailand to examine why the content remained accessible and was able to reach large audiences despite the platform’s community standards prohibiting sexually explicit material. Photo via Magnific Police said this type of content could encourage imitation behaviour, particularly among children and teenagers. Members of the public who encounter explicit clips online were advised to report them or contact the cyber police hotline on 1441. Under Section 14(1) and Section 14(4) of Thailand’s Computer Crime Act, creating or distributing obscene online content carries penalties of up to five years in prison, a fine of up to 100,000 baht, or both. Police also warned that users who knowingly like, share, or forward obscene material could face prosecution under Section 14(5) with the same penalties. In similar news, cyber police officers arrested a Thai mother in Sa Kaeo province for livestreaming herself sexually abusing her teenage son to earn money from online viewers. The explicit videos were shared within a private online group that required members to pay for access.

Highway Police Launch Thailand's First Japanese-Model Traffic Learning Center for Volunteers in Ubon

24 May Khaosod

Highway Police have launched Thailand's first volunteer traffic learning center modeled after Japan's traffic discipline programs at Ban Kaeng Srikhot Border Patrol Police School in Sirindhorn District, Ubon Ratchathani. Led by Police General Phorsak Leorujiralay, Highway Police Commander, along with provincial officials and over 200 volunteers from various sectors, the initiative—dubbed "Coming Together to Build Dreams for Our Young Border Residents"—aims to rehabilitate and improve the quality of life for youth in border areas.

The project encompasses 15 activities including educational scholarships, school supplies, sports equipment, essential necessities, facility repairs, free health checkups and haircuts, and lunch programs. The centerpiece is the traffic learning center, adapted from Japan's traffic discipline model, where students cycle through real traffic signs, signals, and lights to learn practical skills and identify hazards such as pedestrian crossings and railway safety.

Educational stations include a safety demonstration base featuring seatbelt safety simulations and helmet impact tests using watermelons to show the consequences of neglecting safety gear. A "reckless rider endpoint" station uses actors dressed as paramedics with injured and deceased mannequins to warn youth of dangerous driving consequences. A mini-traffic theory station allows students to take mini-driver's license tests and practice hand signals to train them as school traffic volunteers.

School officials report that students now have greater understanding and awareness of traffic rules and are prepared to share this knowledge with their parents. Ubon Ratchathani province plans to encourage other schools in Sirindhorn District to study the center as a model for safety development, while the Highway Police intend to expand the program to multiple locations nationwide.

Lookaed Metinee Confused by Tae's Comments: Explains Why She Didn't Join the Popular Show, Reveals Which Seasons Were Actually Fun Without Her

Looksaed Metinee responded angrily to host Tae's recent interview about The Face Thailand Season 7, claiming he gave false hope by suggesting her return when she was never invited to the show and instead joined Take Hormone.

24 May Khaosod

Despite loving the show, she's not going anymore! Lookaed Metinee fired back at Tae's confusing remarks about giving people hope, revealing why she didn't join the popular program and saying it didn't show her respect. To be blunt, Metinee wasn't there—which seasons were actually fun?

Regarding The Face Thailand Season 7, Tae Piyarat Kalpcharuk spoke about announcing mentors in advance for the first time, responding to fans' disappointment that Lookaed Metinee and B Namthip went to another show instead, saying she was happy with their decision to work elsewhere and that everyone could return to work together in the future, possibly soon and unexpectedly, since she wasn't attached to anyone. However, she didn't want it to become a back-and-forth argument.

Most recently, Lookaed Metinee went live to address Tae's interview clip: "This morning I woke up and people kept sending me caps of her interview with captions saying 'not angry at Lookaed - B, okay,' then she ended by saying maybe we'd work together. Why would she say that? She's giving people false hope again. I didn't go to that show—I went to Take Hormone instead."

"When they first made the teaser, they made it seem like there would be grapes, so everyone thought I had to be there since Lookaed means dried grapes. They probably thought I'd definitely be there. Then boom, I announced Take Hormone and people asked if I was going to that other show. No, because they never invited me—not once."

"Suddenly I saw lots of people from that show go to Take Hormone Season 2's finale, and Goroangon got upset and announced she'd step back from anyone who participated in that show. Then suddenly it all ended and nothing happened. Maybe we'll work together eventually. Are you confused? Because I'm confused."

"Let me be clear—whatever show needs buzz, needs memes, they invite me. In the past, they didn't want it, so I didn't go. Who am I to tell Lookaed where's fun?"

"I'm... confused. We're fair people. We loved that show because we literally built it with our hands and sweat. I absolutely loved that show."

"But for various reasons in past seasons, maybe they didn't show me respect, so I didn't go. So what? When you see me go somewhere else, why are you confused about me? I'm confused."

During the live, Lookaed read a comment saying the show wasn't fun anymore: "It's not fun because Metinee isn't there—let me be direct. Which seasons were actually fun without Lookaed? It's straightforward. I don't consider it as coming, going, or anything like that—it's just straight facts."
