Atthakorn Regrets Cabinet's Failure to Endorse Constitutional Draft, Contradicting Referendum Results; Says Palang Pracharath Ready to Support Democracy-Strengthening Proposals

Palang Pracharath MP Atthakorn Sirilattayakorn criticized Parliament for failing to reconsider a constitutional draft, saying starting from scratch contradicts referendum results, as his party prepares to decide whether to submit its own am

1d ago Khaosod

On May 19, 2025, at Parliament, Atthakorn Sirilattayakorn, Chakburi constituency MP and Palang Pracharath party (PP) spokesman, discussed his party's stance on drafting a new constitution. He expressed regret that last week Parliament did not consider the constitutional amendment draft that the cabinet failed to reendorse, as some versions would have been preliminary steps, and starting entirely from scratch contradicts the referendum results.

Atthakorn stated that Palang Pracharath will soon hold a party meeting to discuss constitutional amendments with members, deciding whether to submit its own draft or support other members' proposals. Any draft that poses no threat to governance, benefits the public, and strengthens democracy would receive party backing. If the party does not submit its own draft, it will support suitable alternatives, since constitutional amendments cannot be achieved by a single party and require parliamentary consensus, which is time-consuming. The party should therefore choose proposals with the broadest coverage and greatest benefit to Thailand's democratic system with the monarchy as head of state.

When asked what improvements Palang Pracharath envisions to the 2017 Constitution, Atthakorn said the party would focus on public convenience and address weaknesses or unpopular elements, prioritizing those issues while confirming it will not touch important sections.

Regarding ballot design, Atthakorn noted he discussed with Parunya Thevaneramittkul, a law professor at Thammasat University, a proposal to improve ballot clarity and accessibility, particularly for elderly voters, making the voting process more convenient and transparent.

Thai student reports break-in by police officer's son

A university student in Udon Thani filed a police complaint after a senior student—the son of a police officer—allegedly climbed into her apartment room at dawn to apologize over a personal dispute involving his girlfriend's jealousy.

1d ago Khaosod

UDON THANI — May 19, 2026: A female university student in northeastern Thailand has filed a police complaint after alleging that a senior student, who is the son of a police officer, climbed into her room before dawn to confront and apologize over a personal dispute.

Police in Udon Thani said the complaint was lodged on the evening of May 18 by a 54-year-old apartment owner identified as Narumon and a 21-year-old fourth-year university student identified by the pseudonym "A."

The complaint included CCTV footage allegedly showing 21-year-old Kittipong, a senior student at the same university, entering the student's accommodation at approximately 5:02 a.m. on May 18. According to the footage, Kittipong arrived home on a motorcycle at 4:59 a.m. before leaving shortly afterwards. He paused to observe his surroundings before crossing the road toward the victim's apartment building.

He was then seen climbing over the apartment fence while carrying what appeared to be a flashlight, heading to the rear of the student's room and entering the property. Police said he remained inside for around 30 minutes.

At 5:36 a.m., CCTV footage showed him climbing back out of the apartment compound, crossing the road, and returning home.

After receiving the complaint, investigators and patrol officers from Muang Udon Thani Police Station inspected the scene and questioned nearby residents. During the inquiry, officers discovered that the neighboring homeowner was a police officer. A review of evidence and CCTV footage identified the alleged intruder as the officer's son.

Police said Kittipong admitted his actions in front of his father and investigators after being confronted with the evidence. He allegedly told police that he climbed from his family home into the apartment compound and entered the student's room through an unlocked rear door.

When questioned about his motive, Kittipong said he wanted to discuss and resolve tensions and apologize to the student over an earlier disagreement involving jealousy from his girlfriend, who had become suspicious of the woman and unfollowed her on Instagram.

The student said she had always respected him as a senior student who had helped her with academic work, and stressed that she already had a boyfriend and had never viewed the relationship romantically.

"If he genuinely wanted to talk or apologize, he should have come to the front door during normal hours when people were awake," she said. "Instead, he climbed the fence and entered my room at 5:00 a.m. while I was asleep. It has caused me serious fear and anxiety."

Investigators said witness statements had been recorded and that the suspect would be formally summoned for questioning as legal proceedings continue.

Jin Khuang Kwang Opens Up About Finding Love, Life Improves After Meeting Girlfriend, Gets Health Support to Cut Back on Drinking, Preparing for Korea Business Expansion

Jin Khuang Kwang, heir to a prominent family, credits his girlfriend with improving his lifestyle, reducing his drinking, and boosting his business success as the couple prepares to expand their snack import venture into Korea.

1d ago Khaosod

Nothing binds the heart except understanding! Jin Khuang Kwang publicly opens up about finding his girlfriend and experiencing life improvements, with health support helping him reduce drinking as he prepares for business expansion in Korea.

The couple made their first joint media appearance together. Jin Jarin Thamvattana, heir to a prominent family, and his girlfriend Kwang Ratitcha Phaengsap have frequently been seen at social events and streaming together on social media. Most recently, on May 18, 2026, both attended the launch of VFC & BB Clinic, a new comprehensive fertility and health center in the heart of Sukhumvit, at VFC & BB Clinic on Sukhumvit Soi 11, where they gave interviews to the press.

When asked why they came to the event, Kwang shared, "I learned something new today—that men and women who've had permanent sterilization can still have children. It's completely new information to me. You don't even have to reverse the procedure, and it barely hurts."

When asked if they've considered having children, Jin joked, "Let's stick to being beauty customers for now. If we had kids right now, by the time our child finished high school, I'd be over 60. When they graduated from university, people would think their grandparents came to work!" (laughs)

Asked about their current business collaboration, Jin said, "We're selling snacks and such," while Kwang added, "We import snacks."

Regarding their partnership, Kwang enthused, "It's great. I get to see Khun Jin do new things and he does them well. He's been selling really well lately and runs great promotions."

Jin explained, "It's in my blood—I come from a merchant family. Now that we're streaming every night, I don't go out partying anymore. We just sit together, the two of us."

When asked if Jin had become more handsome, he replied, "Thank you," while Kwang added, "He looks fresher because he's drinking less. I haven't forbidden it, but by keeping busy with work and streaming, he simply doesn't have time to drink."

Jin cautiously noted, "I'm afraid of saying something I don't understand and saying too much."

Has his lifestyle improved? Jin reflected, "I go to bed late—it's 2 AM by the time the stream ends and I still wake up early. But I go out less. I can tell my body is getting less tired."

When asked what both are currently focused on, Jin said, "We're focused on living together, understanding each other, and taking care of each other."

Kwang added, "We're looking at the business and expanding it, especially in food. We already have skincare products and Jin has his market. We're thinking about what we can do together. Jin wants to open a night market."

Jin revealed that meeting Kwang has made his life better. When asked if he agrees with Kwang's sentiment that finding her has improved his life, Jin responded, "You can definitely see it—things have been getting progressively better. Even though we used to go out every night, we've been adjusting in positive ways. At our age, if we kept living that way, I wouldn't even make it to 60. Now things are improving."

Kwang revealed there's nothing holding her back—it's all about understanding. When asked what binds Jin to her, Kwang said, "Oh wow, nothing really. It's based on understanding. It's like there's no force involved. We just live normally. All I ask is that when we stream, he doesn't drink. Other than that, he can enjoy time with friends."

When asked if his reputation preceded their relationship, Kwang explained, "We talked clearly from the start about what I'm like—what I like, what I don't like, and where I can adjust. Usually, I don't go out at all, don't drink, don't party. But he's the complete opposite. But we talked about it and agreed he doesn't have to stop, just ease up. I'm not forcing him. I want him to reduce it because he genuinely wants to."

Asked if this was their first interview, Kwang confirmed, "Yes, it's our first time. I'm nervous. Usually with beauty and skincare content, we don't do media appearances. But these days I'm happy—there's nothing wrong. He's improved and I'm happy about it."

When asked again if Jin has become more handsome, Jin insisted, "I was already handsome."

Kwang burst out laughing, "Oh wow, yes! He looks much younger, handsomer than when we first met."

Jin joked, "My heels have become my face," referring to the dramatic change.

Kwang is happy to support Jin in reducing drinking and improving his health. When asked if she feels satisfied seeing their success and how it's helped him change, Kwang said, "I'm happy. I feel happy all the time. I'm not forcing anything. We live together with understanding, and he genuinely tries to improve himself every day."

Relentless Smuggling: Authorities Arrest Thai Middleman and 16 Chinese and Pakistani Nationals in Ongoing Human Trafficking Operation

1d ago Khaosod

May 19, 2025 – Military personnel, local administration officials, and village safety volunteers launched an operation to intercept human smugglers moving foreign nationals illegally across the border from Cambodia. Acting on reports from local residents of a suspicious vehicle near Silarat Pattana village in Non Mak Moon subdistrict, Kok Sung district, Sa Kaew province, officers stopped a TATA pickup truck registered in Nakhon Sawan. Inside were 16 foreign nationals—10 Chinese and 6 Pakistani—crammed into the vehicle. Thai driver Surat Bounkrit, 35, was also arrested.

During interrogation, the foreign nationals claimed they traveled to Poipet for work after being lured with promises of online business and restaurant jobs. However, they weren't paid as agreed and some alleged forced labor for over six months, prompting them to escape during the night. Officers believe the operation is highly organized: smugglers transport migrants from Poipet near the border, where Cambodian guides lead them through sugarcane fields and natural passages into Thailand's An Silk area, where Thai brokers receive them for transport inland.

The search yielded numerous mobile phones, foreign SIM cards, and multiple passports; some detainees carried no identification documents. Surat confessed to being hired by a broker named "Prida" at 50 baht per head to transport the migrants to Aranyaprathet district before being intercepted. All suspects are now in custody at Kok Sung Police Station facing charges under human trafficking and illegal border crossing laws. Authorities are pursuing the network of smuggling brokers who remain at large.

Snail Lakpeut Confident in Her Signature Weapon, Ready to Face Boonmee Sixnine on Khao Charoenchai Fight Night

Muay Thai fighter Snail Lakpeut enters her first competitive bout against Boonmee Sixnine at Khao Charoenchai Fight Night, confident in her devastating elbow strike after three weeks of intense training.

1d ago Khaosod

Snail Lakpeut arrived at Rangsit International Boxing Stadium early on the morning of May 19, 2569, fully prepared both physically and mentally for tonight's bout against Boonmee Sixnine. The female boxer, dressed in an all-white warm-up suit with "Thailand" printed on the back and a white cap, weighed in at 115 pounds (52.2 kilograms) and stands 167 centimeters tall. She revealed her most confident weapon is her elbow strike, stating confidently, "If it lands, they drop," and emphasized she wants spectators to see the results rather than dwelling on past events.

Snail stated she has trained intensely every day for the past three weeks, waking up at 5:00 AM each morning. Though she admitted the first week was challenging due to her inexperience with competitive boxing training, causing some muscle soreness, she has grown considerably. Her sole goal for today is victory, though she plans to continue training afterward as she aspires to become a professional boxer.

During the training period, Snail said she has learned discipline and gained valuable lessons from the previous incident, which has helped her improve her temperament in society. She acknowledged being hotheaded and impulsive before but has become much calmer now. Though she admitted fault in the previous altercation, she considers it resolved and views tonight purely as a sporting contest, promising such incidents won't occur again.

Regarding her family, Snail revealed her mother is supportive and will attend ringside for encouragement, telling her to fight with full effort. As for Boonmee, they haven't communicated since appearing on a talk show, but Snail's final message to her opponent is to bring everything she has, as Snail intends to do the same.

After passing the medical examination clearance to compete, Snail entered the ring to familiarize herself with the setting, since she has never competed before. She performed respectful wai to the boxing shrine and practiced her signature elbow strikes in Boonmee's red corner, both for technique refinement and psychological advantage before their scheduled bout at approximately 20:30.

Woman Orders Two Dishes for 150 Baht, Opens Bag to Find Shockingly Small Portions—Calls Restaurant and Gets Backlash

A woman received tiny portions after ordering two dishes for 150 baht through a delivery app in Southern Thailand, and faced criticism from the restaurant when she complained, sparking outrage from online users over inadequate quantities.

1d ago Khaosod

A Facebook user shared her experience ordering food through a delivery app and received portions that seemed disproportionately small for the price paid. The poster shared photos of two bags of food and wrote that she ordered duck noodles and pork belly rice through the app at 75 baht per item for a total of 150 baht, expressing surprise at never receiving such small portions before. When she called the restaurant to inquire, staff told her the delivery fee was deducted, leaving 49 baht per item, and suggested she visit the restaurant in person if unsatisfied.

The post attracted numerous critical comments from online users about the inadequate food quantity. Notable comments included: "Normally, whether selling in-store or through apps with delivery fees included, portions should be consistent—not reducing portions and then blaming the deductions"; "Looks like leftovers they're packing up to send home"; "Report this to the app"; "I ordered like this once, got the same result, and after posting a review the restaurant actually called to yell at me"; and "Even 49 baht seems overpriced based on what I'm seeing in the photos." The poster responded that she hadn't even eaten it yet—she'd just opened the bag and taken the photo.
