Port Authority FC Unveils Nitipong's Return for Second Squad Assault in New Season
Right-back Nitipong Selanon returns to Port Authority FC for the 2026/27 season after leaving True Bangkok, aiming to win the domestic championship and compete in the AFC Champions League Elite.
Port Authority FC continues its squad reinforcement efforts, announcing the return of right-back Nitipong Selanon to the team for the 2026/27 season, competing in both domestic and international tournaments. The aggressive 32-year-old fullback parted ways with True Bangkok FC after the 2025/26 season, in which he played 42 matches across all competitions totaling 2,908 minutes. Although courted by several clubs, Nitipong chose to return to Port Authority at Pat Stadium, motivated by aligned goals: winning the championship in 2026/27 and participating in the AFC Champions League Elite competition. Additionally, the Port Authority Lions will have the opportunity to compete in the 2026/27 Shopee Cup, the ASEAN Club Championship, for the first time by virtue of winning the Thai FA Cup. They will face BG Pathum United in the final on May 24, 2025, at Thammasat Stadium Rangsit at 7:00 PM. Nitipong Selanon previously played for Port Authority FC from 2015-2021, earning nearly 200 appearances across all competitions and winning the Thai FA Cup in 2019 before moving to Chiangrai United and True Bangkok FC. He has also represented the Thai national team under coaches Akira Nishino, Mano Polking, and Masatada Ishii.
