CLICX has officially received a virtual bank license from the Bank of Thailand, establishing new standards for digital financial services and removing traditional barriers in the banking system.

Supaporn Sunthrorohat, Chief Executive Officer of CLICX Bank Public Company Limited, announced that the bank's management and board of directors officially received the virtual bank license from the Bank of Thailand on May 18, 2025, at the bank's headquarters.

This marks a major milestone for CLICX, a joint venture of KTB, AIS, and OR, as Thailand's first branch-less bank. The license reflects CLICX's readiness to operate a full-scale digital banking business with advanced technology, security standards, quality service standards, and a deep understanding of modern Thai financial behavior. The goal is to develop accessible, secure digital financial services that meet users' everyday needs.

"The emergence of CLICX represents an important step for Thailand in upgrading its financial system to drive the digital economy and create new opportunities for all Thais to access financial services with greater inclusivity, fairness, and security," Supaporn stated. "We believe this new banking model is not merely a transaction channel, but financial infrastructure that removes previous limitations for ordinary people and small business operators, enabling everyone to better manage money, plan their future, and access economic opportunities. CLICX aims to connect technology with the financial system to create new standards for Thai banking and serve as a key driver for sustainable economic growth."

CLICX is designing services through an application that understands the diverse lifestyles and financial needs of individuals, covering savings, money management, and financial products tailored to each user. The bank is committed to advancing financial inclusion, ensuring all Thais have equitable access to quality financial services. CLICX plans to officially launch its services in June 2025.

BANGKOK — May 20, 2026: A fatal accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Wednesday morning when he lost control of his vehicle on Rama II Road, fell into the path of a moving public bus, and was run over by the vehicle.

Police from Samae Dam Station responded to the incident at 9:00 AM on Rama II Road in Samae Dam Sub-district, Bang Khun Thian District. Forensic teams from Siriraj Hospital and rescue volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation joined officers at the scene. The accident occurred in the outbound lanes heading toward Mahachai, an area currently restricted to two lanes due to elevated highway construction.

Authorities found the victim, identified as 35-year-old Kritsanu Thong-on, a factory worker, lying face-down on the road with severe head injuries from being struck by the bus. He was wearing grey jeans, a black T-shirt, and a raincoat. His grey Yamaha Filano motorcycle showed fresh scrape marks on the right side. About 100 meters away, police located the Route 140 bus involved in the incident, which displays bloodstains on its rear left wheel arch.

The 45-year-old bus driver, identified as Jue, told investigators he was driving in the second lane toward Mahachai when the motorcyclist suddenly lost balance and crashed. The victim's body then slid beneath the moving bus, resulting in the fatal accident.

Police are coordinating with Kritsanu's family regarding the release of his body from Siriraj Hospital for funeral arrangements. The bus driver has been detained at Samae Dam Police Station for further questioning as investigators determine what charges, if any, will be filed.

Tourists have raised concerns over marine tour safety near Koh Larn after a viral social media post described a diving trip caught in rough seas and strong winds, with passengers allegedly left without adequate assistance during a sudden storm.

A TikTok user shared her experience from a join-trip snorkelling tour near Pattaya on 4 May, saying tourists were allowed into the water despite worsening weather conditions and received no warning about an approaching storm.

According to the woman, staff later announced that a storm was approaching, but while nearby tour boats quickly pulled tourists from the sea, her group was allegedly left floating in rough waters as waves intensified and the boat rocked violently.

She claimed several tourists struggled to swim back to the boat after flotation devices drifted away, while her sister was told by a jet ski operator to hold onto a buoy despite strong waves repeatedly pulling her underwater.

The woman said she and her boyfriend were eventually rescued by another boat and described the incident as a "life-or-death moment."

The post sparked criticism online, with some users claiming they were on the same trip and alleging there were too few staff members to assist tourists during the emergency.

The tourist called on marine tour operators to improve safety measures, including better weather warnings and faster emergency response. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Rescue workers in Thalang district, Phuket safely rescued a nine-month-old baby who was accidentally locked inside a car on Wednesday morning. Emergency responders from Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation's Muang Mai branch were alerted to the incident at around 09:52 at a house in Ban Bang Rong, Pa Khlok subdistrict. Officials found the infant trapped inside a red passenger car and quickly managed to unlock the vehicle and bring the child out safely. The baby was unharmed, according to initial reports, prompting relief from the child's mother and nearby residents. Authorities urged parents and guardians to always check inside vehicles before locking them, especially during hot weather, warning that leaving children inside cars can quickly become dangerous.

An 18-year-old man used doctored photos to impersonate a government official and deceived poor families into housing construction schemes, then vanished with 400,000 baht in funds collected from village committees.

On May 20, 2025, residents of Chaokhemmak Subdistrict in Prakon Chai District, Buriram Province filed complaints that multiple poor families were suffering severely. Village committees had demolished their deteriorating homes with the intention of rebuilding them using Community Organizations Development Institute funds, but an unknown man had fraudulently obtained 400,000 baht from the village committee, leaving the poor families homeless.

Samruan Pathumrat, 70, one of the affected residents, explained that the village committee had initially approached her about building a new home funded by the institute at approximately 35,000 baht per house. She was delighted at the prospect of a new home after living in poverty for so long. The committee demolished her old house and even had foundation posts installed, but then everything went silent. Now, more than four months later, she remains homeless with no shelter.

Niwan Suepdi, 60, a neighboring resident, recounted that about five months earlier, a young person claiming to be Jetrin, secretary of the Community Organizations Development Institute (Public Organization), approached her house. This individual spoke eloquently and claimed the institute would build new homes for poor families across several villages.

Later, it was discovered that this so-called Jetrin had contacted village committees claiming he would oversee the housing project, but the committees needed to submit documentation to the institute under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security's Buriram office. After the committees provided evidence and received cash, Jetrin insisted on managing all the funds himself. The trusting committees agreed because of his persuasive manner, but he disappeared with the money.

The committees were shocked to learn that Jetrin was only 18 years old, yet he had managed to find the correct organization and successfully deceive multiple village committees. They were particularly distressed for the elderly residents who had even contributed 7,000 baht from their senior citizen stipends to the project.

Iklas Sanhorn has confirmed he is fully prepared to compete fiercely and fears nothing after earning another call-up to Thailand's senior national team for the June FIFA window fixtures against Kuwait and China.
