In Uthai Thani, an 83-year-old woman was startled to find an albino python crawling in her home and called rescuers to remove it. The Phra Chonak City Rescue Foundation's snake-handling experts responded to the report of a python hiding in a house in Uthai Mai subdistrict, Mueang district. The two-story home belonged to Ms. Thamya Thamsuk, 83, who pointed out the ground-floor area where the snake had hidden. Rescuers used a noose to secure the snake's neck and extracted it after 10 minutes. It was a three-meter albino python with golden markings, suspected to be an escaped pet.
Ms. Thamya said she and the snake were both frightened when they encountered each other, causing it to flee under a storage shelf. She then called for help. Neighboring residents flocked to see the snake, convinced it would bring good fortune.
After capture, rescuers planned to send the python to a zoo for care. Ms. Thamya called her son in Bang O district to inform him. He replied that it was his own pet python, kept in a glass cabinet in a second-floor room, and it must have escaped from the cabinet down to the lower floor. Ms. Thamya then allowed rescuers to place the albino python back into its original glass enclosure.
