Anutin, Thamanat Dinner Sparks Coalition Rumors
Anutin Charnvirakul and Thamanat Phrompha were pictured dining together at an Indian restaurant in Bangkok, a photo posted by the venue on October 15. The image has fueled speculation that the Klaitham Party, recently expelled from the opposition whip, may join the government after the upcoming no‑confidence debate. Observers are watching for a possible cabinet reshuffle that could bring the party into the coalition.
The report says the Punjab Grill Bangkok Facebook page, which is located inside the Radisson Suites Bangkok on Sukhumvit 13 in the Khlong Toei Nuea area of Watthana, posted pictures of Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also the interior minister and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, Thamanat Phrompha, a list‑MP and leader of the Klaitham Party, and Chada Thaiiset, a Bhumjaithai MP from Uthai Thani. The accompanying English caption, translated into Thai, reads that the restaurant feels privileged to have welcomed the Prime Minister, Thamanat, and Chada for an evening meal. The photos were uploaded on October 15, amid reports that the Klaitham Party had earlier been removed from the opposition whip and that it might refrain from participating in the no‑confidence debate against the government set for October 27‑29, with a vote on October 30, and that a cabinet reshuffle could follow the debate, potentially bringing the Klaitham Party into the coalition.
