Arne Slot believes Salah's heavy metal football post comes from good intentions toward the club
Liverpool manager Arne Slot says Mohamed Salah's social media post criticizing the team's tactics reflects shared goals rather than a direct attack, ahead of Sunday's final Premier League match.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot believes Mohamed Salah's recent post calling for the team to return to aggressive, heavy metal-style football stems from good intentions and a desire for club success. Salah's social media message, in which he urged Liverpool to return to attacking football and maintain that identity, sent shockwaves through the team. Many observers viewed the post as a full-frontal criticism of Slot's tactics following the team's disappointing season. Speaking ahead of Liverpool's final Premier League match against Brentford, Slot said: "I think Mo and I have the same goal. We want what's best for this club. We want the club to be as successful as possible. We were both part of delivering the league title for the first time in five years to the fans, but we're also aware of this season." He added: "What we want, what he wants, and what I want is for the club to succeed like last season. That's what I prioritize most right now, because Sunday's match could be a good foundation for next season. That's what we should focus on." However, the 47-year-old manager remained coy about whether Salah would feature in the final match, saying: "I never talk about team selection. If I did that now, you'd be surprised."
