Astrologer Warns Monday and Sunday Births to Stay Indoors

Astrologer Olay Yanasampat appeared on Golf Benjaphon's YouTube channel to caution people born on Monday and Sunday to remain indoors during a three-day window. "We're halfway through the year and a natural phenomenon will occur—a solar eclipse where Rahu covers the sun on August 12," he explained. "The period extends to August 11, 12, and 13 internationally. My teachers advised me to ask people not to leave their homes for three days due to fear of Rahu's shadow and its influence."
According to traditional belief, those affected by Rahu's shadow face bad luck, particularly people born on Monday and Sunday. However, Olay noted that this belief exists across Southeast Asia as well. From a Buddhist perspective, he said, all things result from karma, though cultural traditions still hold value. Rahu, associated with the number 8, can represent knowledge and skillful means in astrology. "If possible, stay indoors during these three days," he advised. "But if you must go out, maintain good thoughts, speak well, and have right view. Return home and rely on Buddhist merit through chanting—I believe the Buddha's protection is real."
When asked about potential alarming events in August, Olay expressed concern about the fire season. "August is the fire month—horse fire meets fire. September and October also require caution regarding major fire-related incidents," he stated. "From September 4 through October 29, both water and fire will occur. With good management, it shouldn't be severe, but in past years when Bangkok, Don Mueang, and Ayutthaya flooded completely, we lacked dams and flood barriers. Now those systems are complete, so the risk is different."
Regarding potential fire incidents, Olay distinguished between two types: fires on streets unrelated to water, and fires in crowded gathering places. "Fires in densely populated areas are more frightening," he said. From late October to mid-December, he warned of potential foreign interference and civil unrest. "There may be quarrels and disturbances in places with large crowds. Small problems could arise, but if major issues occur, they might escalate to the national level, requiring embassy involvement," he concluded.
