Deputy Interior Minister Jetserath Thaiserath revealed progress on July 6, 2025, regarding the religious tour and travel package scam that has harmed hundreds of citizens. He coordinated with governors of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces to expedite victim data collection and evidence gathering. The government has instructed tour company investigations and legal prosecution of all responsible parties while aggressively pursuing asset recovery to restore justice to victims.
Thaiserath reported that over 500 victims have already filed complaints, with more expected to come forward. The Interior Ministry is coordinating nationwide to accept reports and assist citizens fully, ensuring comprehensive evidence collection for efficient prosecution. The ministry is collaborating with the Consumer Protection Board, Department of Business Development, Tourism Authority, Justice Center, and Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to investigate facts, extend inquiries to all involved parties, and track suspect assets to maximize fund recovery for victims.
Thaiserath emphasized his close monitoring of the case and commitment to prosecuting offenders to the fullest extent while rapidly recovering assets and refunding victims.
