Central Pattana Unveils 11 Billion Baht Youth-Focused Mall
Central Pattana is developing an 11 billion baht mixed-use project at Bangkok's Pathumwan intersection with a youth-focused retail mall, office building, and luxury hotel opening between 2025 and 2027.
Central Pattana unveiled the CenTRal cENtrAL project on July 6, 2025, a 11 billion baht mixed-use development at Pathumwan intersection spanning 7 acres with 141,000 square meters of gross floor area. The project, developed with Mitsubishi Estate, comprises a shopping mall, office building, and hotel. Phase 1 features a 40,000 square meter retail mall with 300 shops, allocating 30-40% of retail space to young entrepreneurs and emerging brands. The mall is expected to open in Q2 2025. Phase 2 will include a 20,000 square meter office building designed as a Future-Ready Workplace, opening in Q3 2025. Phase 3 will feature a 350-room 25hours Hotel, a prestigious international brand selected for only 13 cities worldwide, with Bangkok as one of them, opening in Q1 2027. Central Pattana's CEO Chanwat Uivatanasikul stated that Siam Square represents the epicenter of youth culture and creativity, and the company is committed to elevating it into a global youth culture center where young people, creatives, entrepreneurs, and people worldwide can live, work, travel, and grow together. Mitsubishi Estate Senior Executive Officer Misanori Iwase emphasized Bangkok's high potential as an Asian city and Siam Square's crucial role as a creative hub. The collaboration aims to leverage Mitsubishi Estate's global urban development expertise to drive the area's future while creating sustainable value. Marketing Director Nattakitti Tangpoolsindhana noted that world-class cities feature strong youth culture centers like Harajuku in Japan, Seongsu in South Korea, Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong, and Shoreditch in London. The project expects to attract 50,000-60,000 daily visitors upon opening. Head of Leasing Isares Jiratthivatvn highlighted that Siam Square has continuously been a trendsetter where numerous local brands have grown into national brands and where global brands establish their presence.
