Bangkok Customs Seizes Drugs in Five International Parcel Cases
Bangkok Customs stopped five drug smuggling attempts through international parcels, seizing over 600 grams of cocaine from the UK and ecstasy and alprazolam tablets from Germany worth about 1.94 million baht. The operation follows urgent government policies to keep Thailand from being a hub for cross‑border narcotics. Officials worked with multiple agencies to share intelligence and enforce the crackdown.
Between October 2 and October 9, 2026, Bangkok Customs officers examined suspicious international parcels and uncovered five cases. Three cases involved cocaine shipped from the UK, totaling about 607 grams including packaging, valued at roughly 1.82 million baht. One case contained 97 ecstasy tablets from Germany worth about 116,400 baht, and another case held 94 alprazolam tablets from Germany, including broken pieces, worth about 940 baht. The combined seized drugs amount to approximately 607 grams of cocaine, 97 ecstasy tablets, and 94 alprazolam tablets, with a total estimated value of 1,938,340 baht. Authorities said the seizures constitute violations of narcotics import laws, as the substances were brought into the Kingdom without permission. Bangkok Customs coordinated with the Office of the Narcotics Control Board, the Thai Armed Forces Security Centre, the Royal Thai Police, and Thailand Post to share information and enforce anti‑drug measures.
