On 9 October 2026, the Internal Security Operations Command Region 1, specifically its Bangkok bureau, coordinated with customs, narcotics officials, and other agencies to search the Bangkok Special Post Office in the Lak Si district after officials detected suspicious international parcels. Lt. Gen. Phet-ek Inthat, deputy commander of the Bangkok ISOC (army division), assigned the Information Collection and Examination Unit 101 to work alongside special post office staff, customs officers, the Bangkok Narcotics Bureau, army intelligence, and security personnel. Authorities opened four suspect parcels: two originating from Germany contained ecstasy tablets (three-layered, blue-pink-gray and gray-green-blue) totaling 97 pieces plus fragments, and alprazolam tablets (white) totaling 94 pieces plus fragments. The remaining two parcels, shipped from the United Kingdom, held white cocaine powder with gross weights of about 212 grams and 242 grams. All narcotics were seized and evidence collected before being handed over to Thung Song Hong Police Station for legal action and further investigation. The operation proceeded smoothly, demonstrating effective cooperation among security and related agencies in thwarting drug smuggling via international mail.

Opposition Claims Evidence Ready for No-Confidence Debate

Opposition leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut said the no‑confidence motion against 18 ministers is substantive, not mere political theatre, and that he possesses evidence to back the allegations. He expects the debate to last at least five days, arguing that a shorter period would be unfair given the number of accusations, and stressed that the opposition’s goal is to inform the public so voters can judge politicians.
