On 9 October 2026, Thai security, customs and anti-narcotics officials intercepted four suspicious international parcels containing ecstasy, alprazolam and over 450 grams of cocaine at the Bangkok Express Mail Service Centre in Lak Si district. The operation was led by the Internal Security Operations Command Region 1's Bangkok command, working with customs, postal officials, the Office of the Narcotics Control Board, the Royal Thai Army's intelligence unit and the Security Center, after the packages were flagged as suspicious.
Lieutenant General Phet-ek Intharat, deputy director of the Bangkok ISOC for military affairs, assigned Intelligence Collection and Verification Unit 101 to participate. Officers examined the parcels: two came from Germany and two from the United Kingdom. The first German parcel held 97 ecstasy tablets, some broken, described as three-layer pills in blue, pink and grey shades as well as grey, green and blue. The second German parcel contained 94 white alprazolam pills, also with fragments. The UK parcels each held white powder identified as cocaine, weighing about 212 grams and 242 grams respectively, including packaging.
Authorities seized the drugs, logged them as evidence and transferred the case to Thung Song Hong Police Station for further investigation. Officials said the raid demonstrated effective cooperation between security and law-enforcement agencies to detect and stop narcotics smuggling via international parcel services.
