Bangkok Governor Chatchat Denies Supporting Any Candidate, Clarifies Issue of Candidates Using His Image and Name for Campaign
Bangkok Governor Chatchat Sittiphan denies endorsing any mayoral candidate and says unauthorized groups are misusing his image and name in their campaigns.
Bangkok Governor Chatchat Sittiphan posted on Facebook to clarify the situation where multiple candidates running for Bangkok governor are using his image and name in their campaigns. The governor firmly stated that he has not endorsed anyone. On May 3, 2025, Governor Chatchat Sittiphan issued a personal Facebook statement addressing the controversy over candidates running for Bangkok governor who are using his photograph and name in their campaign materials. The governor noted that he has received numerous inquiries about this matter and made two important clarifications: first, he currently does not support any candidate and will personally announce any future endorsements; and second, the "Better Bangkok" name was one he used approximately five years ago during his own gubernatorial campaign but has since discontinued using it and maintains no connection to the newly formed Better Bangkok group. He expressed his willingness to collaborate with all parties but requested their cooperation in not creating misunderstandings among Bangkok residents about his support for any particular group or individual.
