The Toyota Thailand Open 2026, a World Tour Super 500 badminton tournament at Nimibutr Sports Hall on May 16, featured semifinal matches. In men's singles, world No. 2 "View" Kulwutti Vititsant, a two-time champion of this event, faced Taiwan's Chu Tian Chen, ranked 6th globally. "View" continued his dominant form, defeating Chen with consecutive straight-set victories of 21-7, 21-14, securing his place in the final against Denmark's Anders Antonsen, the world No. 3. In the women's singles, Thailand's "Pink" Pitchayamaln Obasanipat was eliminated after losing to Japan's Akane Yamaguchi, world No. 4, with scores of 11-21 and 15-21. In mixed doubles, the pairing of "Bass" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Fame" Sapsiree Taerattanachai, ranked world No. 1 and No. 3 respectively, faced China's Zhu Yiwen and Li Qian, ranked 45th globally.
