The bar's owner is currently in critical condition (ICU) under intensive medical care, and the establishment pledges full transparency and cooperation with police and government agencies in investigating the incident's cause. The bar is actively supporting affected victims and their families and will provide updates exclusively through its official Facebook page, asking the public to avoid sharing unconfirmed information that could hinder the investigation.

Police are intensifying their investigation into the "Chinese Children" network, which illegally falsified Thai nationality documents for foreign children. So far, 33 suspects have been arrested and denied bail due to concerns the scheme threatens national security. On July 13, Deputy Police Commissioner General Samran Nuonmma chaired a coordination meeting with representatives from the Metropolitan Police Bureau, the Interior Ministry, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to track progress in the case of a criminal network engaged in filing false birth registrations for foreign children, dubbed the "Chinese Children" operation.

Investigation revealed that the network recruited Thai nationals to serve as fake biological fathers and hired them out to file false birth registrations for foreign children. They collaborated with corrupt officials at hospitals and civil registration offices to issue fraudulent state documents to children who had no legal right to Thai nationality. This enabled foreign children to illegally acquire Thai citizenship based on bloodline and birth within Thailand, granting them full access to state rights and welfare including education, healthcare, social security, and property ownership. Authorities assess the scheme poses a serious threat to the civil registration system and could compromise national security in the long term.

As of the latest update, authorities have obtained 35 arrest warrants. Police have apprehended 33 suspects, while one fled abroad and one remains at large domestically. Among the 27 detained suspects are four Chinese fathers, ten Chinese mothers, and thirteen fake Thai fathers. The court has rejected bail for all detainees and remanded them in custody pending trial. Police continue to expand the investigation to identify all network members, trace financial flows, investigate links to government officials, and pursue charges against all parties involved in document forgery and abuse of authority.

On July 13, 2026, at 4:40 p.m. at the Police Hospital's Institute of Forensic Medicine, the family of Volunteer Soldier Pisanu Taengsopha, 29, a military guard attached to Division 9 in Kanchanaburi Province, arrived to claim his body following a fatal fire at a beer hall in the Lat Phrao area of Bangkok. The family arranged for a monk to conduct a ceremony to invite the spirit of the deceased before officials transferred the coffin to a vehicle for transport to his hometown in Samchuk District, Suphan Buri Province.

The family had invited one Buddhist monk to perform the ritual invocation of the deceased's spirit before the body was loaded into the vehicle to be returned home. As officials moved Pisanu's remains into the vehicle, his mother wept throughout the process. She then sat inside the vehicle with her son's coffin, gently stroking and patting it while saying through tears, "come home, son"—a moment that moved everyone present.

When reporters asked whether the family had lingering concerns or worries about the incident, particularly regarding safety measures, the mother of the deceased responded briefly, saying only "let me arrange my son's funeral first" before departing with his body. Pisanu's remains were taken to his home in Lat Bai Mai Village, Kraseiao Subdistrict, Samchuk District, Suphan Buri Province, for the religious funeral rites. The Po Teck Tung Foundation arranged transportation for the family, with Pisanu's wife and mother traveling in the same van as his coffin back to Suphan Buri Province for the continuation of the Buddhist funeral ceremonies.

On July 13, 2025, Theeraphol Rungduangdee, a Thai national disaster relief volunteer, detailed the rescue operation at a beer bar fire in the Ladprao area. Rescue teams arrived at the scene at 12:18 a.m. and began operations at approximately 12:20 a.m., about 20 minutes after the fire started. They found three victims collapsed in the women's bathroom and five more in small rooms, successfully evacuating all eight through a rear employee exit. Rescue workers managed to move victims to a safe zone where medical staff provided care; most had suffered smoke inhalation rather than direct burns, though some ran through flames and sustained various degrees of injury.

Rescuers identified the bathroom area as where most victims were trapped. According to smoke inhalation theory, victims lose consciousness within five minutes, but this fire produced brown smoke—a toxic gas ignited from the ceiling—creating radiation effects throughout the space. Theeraphol stressed that most fire victims instinctively hide in bathrooms believing it offers protection, when in reality it does not; he found 13 victims unconscious in bathrooms at this incident.

Regarding emergency exit signage, Theeraphol noted that visibility was zero during rescue operations because smoke and darkness obscured everything. Thai building codes place exit signs above the ceiling, but smoke rises and blocks them from view—unlike Japan, Thailand lacks reflective glow-in-the-dark stickers at floor level for visibility. He could not confirm whether the two rear doors were locked, as firefighters entered from the front regardless of obstacles, though the narrow space required extreme caution. The building's height of only 2.5 meters, compared to the standard 3 meters, may have allowed heat to rise and spread faster during the fire.

Bangkok — 11 July 2026, Thai police have busted an alleged BTS concert ticket scam ring, arresting five suspects accused of defrauding 105 BTS fans of about 1.8 million baht through fake concert ticket sales. The alleged creator of the fake pages confessed to pocketing 800,000 baht, which was spent on luxury goods and overseas travel.

Authorities launched Operation "Smash the Scam: Busting the BTS Ticket Fraud Ring", arresting five suspects: • Temjai (surname withheld), 21 • Pimchanok (surname withheld), 19 • "A" (pseudonym), 18 • Pathanin (surname withheld), 20 • Cherlilinn (surname withheld), 27

All five suspects, aged between 18 and 27, were arrested under warrants No. J.1131–1135/2026 issued by the Min Buri Criminal Court on 10 July. They were apprehended in Bangkok and Surat Thani province.

They face charges including public fraud, jointly entering false information into a computer system in a manner likely to cause damage to the public, and opening or allowing others to use their bank accounts or electronic payment cards for criminal activities.

The case began after numerous fans reported falling victim to scammers following the announcement of the world-renowned Korean group BTS's concert tour in Thailand. With overwhelming demand for tickets, many fans turned to third-party booking agents to secure seats, where fraudsters allegedly created fake social media accounts claiming to offer ticket-booking services at attractive prices.

A total of 105 victims later filed complaints with the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD), each losing an average of around 17,700 baht, with total damages exceeding 1.8 million baht.

Following an investigation, authorities found that the scams were allegedly orchestrated by the same network. Investigators gathered sufficient evidence to obtain court warrants before launching the operation, which resulted in the arrests of all five suspects.

During questioning, some suspects claimed they had been recruited through online job-seeking groups to receive and transfer money via TrueMoney e-Gift vouchers. They said they believed they were processing payments for pre-order purchases and earned between 200 and 2,000 baht per transaction. They added that they only later realised the money originated from the alleged ticket scam.

Another suspect allegedly confessed to creating the fake social media pages and X accounts used to target victims. Police said the suspect admitted receiving around 800,000 baht from victims before spending all of it on personal expenses, including overseas travel and luxury goods such as designer handbags.

All five suspects have been handed over to investigators from the Consumer Protection Police Division for further legal proceedings.

The Highway Police Bureau is investigating a controversial case in which Trang-Phatthalung highway police arrested a Narathiwat volunteer soldier at a checkpoint in Khao Chai Son district on July 13, 2025. Officers discovered a 9mm handgun, three ammunition magazines, and 41 rounds concealed under the driver's seat while the man was traveling home to Nakhon Si Thammarat from duty in Narathiwat. The gun had a valid registration but lacked the required carry permit (Form 12), resulting in charges of illegally carrying a firearm in public. The suspect was detained and transferred to Khao Chai Son police station for prosecution. The Highway Police Bureau acknowledged the public concern and sensitivity surrounding the case, ordering Region 7 Highway Police to conduct a comprehensive review of the facts and circumstances. The bureau has directed field units to coordinate with relevant agencies to establish clear and consistent operational guidelines that align with the law and local conditions, aiming to clarify procedures for officers and restore public confidence while maintaining social order.
