Buriram United advanced to the AFC Champions League final after a dramatic 4-3 aggregate victory over Johor Darul Ta'zim, winning an extra-time thriller with Kingsley Schindler's decisive goal in the 97th minute.
In the AFC Champions League (Shopee Cup) 2025/26 semi-final second leg, Buriram United hosted Johor Darul Ta'zim after their first-leg victory of 3-1.
Johor came well-prepared and scored twice to take the lead 2-0 in this match, with Bergson da Silva scoring in the 45+9' minute and Marcos Guilherme in the 62' minute, intensifying the contest. After 90 minutes, the aggregate score was tied 3-3, sending the match to extra time.
In the extra period, Buriram pressed hard against Johor until the 90+7' minute when Kingsley Schindler broke through to score a narrow corner goal, bringing Buriram back to 1-2 in the match and 4-3 on aggregate.
However, in the 103rd minute, Guilherme Bissoli committed a foul on Eddy Ismafirov that the referee deemed serious misconduct, resulting in a second yellow card and red card expulsion.
With the remaining time, Buriram maintained their advantage. The match ended after 120 minutes with Buriram United losing to Johor Darul Ta'zim 1-2 in the second leg, but advancing 4-3 on aggregate to reach the AFC Champions League final.
