Car Repair Shop Owner Threatened by Senior District Official With Gun

A prominent car repair shop owner in Pathum Thani has filed a complaint after being threatened at gunpoint by an influential group, including a senior district officer's father. On August 21, 2025, at the Sai Mai Tong Rod community office, 58-year-old shop owner Pun (pseudonym) reported his fear to the team following the armed intimidation at his shop.

The dispute with a mechanic dates back to April 2024 and began with a misunderstanding. When police asked Pun about fire extinguisher installation, he directed them to another shop, which was a close associate of the district officer's father. The mechanic misinterpreted this as sabotage and reported Pun's shop to police, creating ongoing ill-will. The mechanic later left and falsely told the landowner that Pun had stolen his customers.

On April 13 during Songkran, the mechanic and his group drove past Pun's shop and stared menacingly at Pun's son's girlfriend, leading to a near-confrontation that locals helped defuse. That evening around 7 p.m., the mechanic returned with the district officer's father. When Pun's son came out to negotiate a resolution, the official claimed he was insulted, drew his pistol, and fired one warning shot into the air while making threats using his influence, warning Pun to stay away from the area. A landowner helped separate them.

After the incident, Pun reported the matter to Muang Pathum Thani Police Station out of safety concerns, but the case has made no progress. He was later followed and threatened by the suspect's associates, pressuring him to withdraw the complaint. Concerned about the suspect's influence as the district officer's father, Pun's family requested help from the Sai Mai Tong Rod team, who are coordinating with the Pathum Thani Provincial Police commander to expedite the case, arrest the suspect, and ensure the victim family's safety.
