Instructor Arrested After Threatening Taxi Driver With Airgun

A mechanic instructor threatened a taxi driver with a gun in the Don Muang area. Police from two nearby stations surrounded and searched a residential building, discovering only a BB gun.

On September 7, 2025, patrol officers from Thung Song Hong and Don Muang police stations—about 20 officers in total—cordoned off the Karn Kaeha Jaeng Watthana apartment complex on Jaeng Watthana Soi 5 after receiving a report from a citizen who spotted a man, approximately 35 years old, driving a white sedan, exiting the vehicle with a gun to threaten a taxi near Don Muang train station before fleeing.

After the initial investigation and dragnet alert, officers discovered the suspect had fled into the Karn Kaeha Jaeng Watthana apartment building on Jaeng Watthana Soi 5. Officers spent approximately 30 minutes cordoning off the area before apprehending Jetsadaphon, a mechanic department instructor at a vocational college in Pathum Thani province, in his fourth-floor room.

During interrogation, Jetsadaphon admitted to threatening the taxi driver. He then led officers to a vehicle parked in the lot in front of building 12, where they recovered a black Glock 17 BB gun concealed inside the car, along with a steel rod approximately one foot long. Officers seized the items and took him to Thung Song Hong police station for further questioning.

Jetsadaphon claimed that before the incident, he had a verbal argument with the taxi driver, who then challenged him aggressively. In response, he drew out what he said was a replica gun, though he did not harm anyone. He stated the airgun was confiscated from a student who had brought it onto the college campus, but he had not yet reported it to school authorities. After the confrontation, he drove back to his residence until police contacted him.

As of the initial report, no formal charges have been filed against him because the taxi driver has not yet filed an official complaint.
