Man Arrested for Knife Attack, Motorcycle Robbery in Kamphaeng Phet
A 30-year-old man was arrested in Kamphaeng Phet after using a knife to rob a motorcycle from a woman on September 7, who managed to escape by jumping from his vehicle and calling police while he drove toward a sugarcane field.
On September 7, 2569, Deputy Provincial Police Commander Ratthasaran Ketsinghsroai and Prankratai Police Station Commander Nopphorn Yotharatsadorn authorized officers Piso Gaewkhan and Worthat Sridadech to arrest Kwan, 30, who was hiding in Moo 6, Sarakaew Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kamphaeng Phet. He is accused of using a knife to rob a motorcycle from a young woman at 1:40 a.m. on the same day on Khao Nangthong-Sarakaew Road in Khao Khiris Subdistrict, Prankratai District. Kwan was already evading an earlier motorcycle theft case from Phrasaeng Police Station in Suratthani Province on September 3.
During interrogation, Kwan claimed he had argued with his girlfriend in Suratthani and was riding home to Sarakaew, Kamphaeng Phet, when his motorcycle broke down. He decided to knife-rob a motorcycle from a lone young woman to get home. He initially planned to tie her up in the forest but did not get the chance.
The victim, Ms. Khunun, 29, revealed that while riding home after work with headphones and a helmet, a man suddenly pulled up beside her demanding she stop. When she asked why, he turned off her motorcycle and forced her into his vehicle at knifepoint, making her drive. She secretly called 191 for help during the drive. When the attacker discovered this, he took her into a sugarcane field. Fearing for her life, she jumped from the vehicle and ran into the forest, then called 191 again with her location. Police arrived quickly and arrested the suspect.
The victim noted this was her second traumatic incident. She previously became viral after falling victim to a call center scam gang that drained her bank account, leaving behind the now-famous phrase: "You're a criminal, brother—a morally corrupt scoundrel." Police are pressing charges and ask anyone with information about similar incidents involving this suspect to contact Prankratai Police Station at 055-741-662 or the local police station where the incident occurred.
