Man Arrested for Knife-Point Sexual Assault, Admits to Methamphetamine Use
A 22-year-old man was arrested for sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman at knifepoint in Pak Chong on September 8, with police discovering he had been using methamphetamine daily and also stole a motorcycle while fleeing the scene.
Police arrested a 22-year-old man on September 10, 2569, for using a pointed knife to sexually assault a 29-year-old woman. During questioning, the suspect confessed to consuming 3 methamphetamine pills daily for 5 days, buying each pill for 15 baht. Deputy Superintendent Wachara Liabsuengnoen of Pak Chong Police Station, along with Officer Pichniiwit Khaesaknoi, led an investigation team that tracked down and apprehended the suspect, identified as "Santhong," age 22. The incident occurred on the afternoon of September 8 at a residential building, during which the suspect also stole a motorcycle sidecar while fleeing.
Police located and apprehended the suspect near a village, as he was attempting to return the stolen motorcycle to its owner. A urine test showed the presence of methamphetamine. The suspect admitted to using a knife to threaten the victim before the assault occurred. He confessed to purchasing methamphetamine from Nong Sarai Subdistrict, Pak Chong District, consuming 3 pills daily for 5 days at 15 baht per pill. His intoxication left him unafraid of consequences.
According to the victim's account, on the afternoon of September 8, she was resting in front of her residential building when she saw the suspect—her true biological grandson—approaching in an agitated manner. As she attempted to close the door, the suspect rushed in with a pointed knife, pulled the door open, and forced himself on top of her. He placed an electrical cord around her neck, nearly suffocating her, and threatened to stab her to death if she resisted before assaulting her and then fleeing.
The victim reported the incident to the village headman and contacted Pak Chong Police Station. Police officers brought her to file a formal report with Sergeant Major Khachai Pinitj, the on-duty investigator, and arranged a medical examination at Pak Chong Nana Hospital. Charges filed include rape with a weapon, theft of a motorcycle, and methamphetamine possession. Background checks also revealed outstanding warrants for fraud, impersonation, and unauthorized computer data entry from June 27, 2568, with complaints filed at Bang Soh Police Station, Bangkok.
